You must renew ILL books PRIOR TO the due date. The system will not let you renew a book that is overdue. We cannot override this.
To renew a book before its due date:
Log into your ILL account at: https://sit.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/illiad.dll
Under "View" click on "Checked Out Items".
Click on the transaction number of the item you wish to renew.
A page will open containing all of the details of the loan. You will see a field that says "Renewals Allowed?". If it says "Yes", go ahead and click on "Renew Request". You may see a notification that says "Further renewals are not allowed". This is a notification that you cannot renew the item again, not that your renewal request did not work. Check the item's due date - it should have changed.
Whether or not an item is renewable is decided by the lending library. If renewals are not allowed, we cannot override that and you must return the book by its due date. Most items are only allowed one renewal, so plan accordingly.
